It is critically important to understand what education is and why it is mandatory.
Mitali stopped in her tracks as she was walking out of the classroom, when she heard two of her talking to each other and saying how hot and sexy she is. Mitali is the teacher of the sixth standard. She could not understand if these children really understand the meaning of hot and sexy. Today children take’s the kissing scenes in the movies extremely effortlessly. Whether the ad’s of sanitary napkins or undergarments; children understands it all. They even have the pressure of making boyfriends-girlfriends in schools. All say that this is the age of the Internet and nowadays kids can learn everything there; and their curiosity provokes them to try it all too. Parents, teachers and government, they all think that sex education should become a necessary subject in all schools so that the children would know the difference between right and wrong. Today minors are getting arrested for crimes such as rape, theft and even murder. If kids really do learn everything from the internet then why emphasize sex education in schools? But if we still think that sex education is important then along with it we need make law education and self-defense necessary too. Because the lack of one among these three (sex, law and defense education) will not let the others pass by and we really need to understand that. Why not add legal clauses in the subjects such as, social-science, civics and general knowledge? Learning legal clauses seems like a better idea rather than ranting the names of kings and years from the history subject; some legal cases can be explained too.
Just as there are science-arts exhibitions; small courts can be put out for colleges and the city's best lawyers and retired judges, can come in and held out debates for some cases.
Girls’ needs to know more about legal information’s than boys. Because it is a bitter truth that women have to struggle in all areas more than men, whether they are in their parental house or in-laws or at workplace. We should know about our legal rights wherever we are; in a government office, police stations, hospitals or other place. There should be some important arrangements, especially for girls.
Along with this, education of self-Defense is necessary too. When giving training for scouts and guides in school-college, self defense (judo-karate) should be taught too. In most of the homes, boys are taught to drive two/four wheelers but it is not deemed necessary to teach girls too, so in colleges they should get some driving lessons too. From the school level first doctors should give first-aid information to the children; firemen can teach how to help and rescue in situations such as earthquake, panic and fire; traffic police can make them aware of the traffic regulations; all this can be taught not in a formal way but at least seriously.
Children, especially girls; should be get the chance to complete their education; so that they will find themselves mentally and physically strong enough to make any important life decision without any hesitation.

beautiful post girl... i believe same... because its your education which defines you, provides you a wider perspective and make you a mature self. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Hemendra :) But we must keep in mind that one cannot depend on government for all this. Parents and schools should do the work on their own level too.
DeleteIt's very beautiful post i totally agree.....
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking out time to read my work and also for agreeing with it :)
DeleteYour write up is quite reasonable and thought stimulating, Manisha!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with all that you said.
(However, I wish I was born some decades later and was a school boy today:))
I try to write like what my blogs subtitle says, "A blog about simple yet neglected life topics". Problems are there but one can solve them in a reasonable and simple way.
